Rainy weekend here in NYC. Thought I would share these inspiring words - snagged from my Pinterest board. I should read them more often myself!

Strike it!

Matchbooks are one of my favorite things to collect. In fact, rare is the night when I go out to dinner and don't come home with at least a few stashed in my clutch from whatever restaurant DW and I went to. Graphically - I love seeing how different restaurants distinguish themselves. But more simply - its fun to look back and remember all of the great dinners we have had in different places.

I also love to give matchbooks! Easy to personalize, and always a hit. Most recently, I ordered custom matchboxes from Social Primer. For some fun ones to give as a hostess gift - I would check out Design Darling's boutique.

Rose Cottage

One of the most-photographed houses on Nantucket, Rose Cottage is a little gem. It is also just down the road from our house and I pass it almost everyday as I ride my bike down Polpis Road up to 'Sconset.

I always wondered what the inside of the house looked like - and finally stumbled across some photos from Architectural Digest as featured on one of my new favorite blogs - Shelter. The article in Architectural Digest is also really interesting - especially if you love cottages by the sea!

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to live on Nantucket for 6 months out of the year. I love everything about this little island 30 miles out to sea and I am so excited to be back there soon!

Elle-worthy

When it comes to beach style, Elle MacPhereson is the Aussie that sets the bar. Hair, jewelry, sunglasses, amazing body... Elle is the ultimate package. What better inspiration is there to make you want to hit the gym?

Lonny Magazine: Bohemian Rhapsody

Lonny Magazine is one of my favorites - so I was more than excited to see my friend Caroline's apartment featured in this month's issue! Her sister Anna Burke is a talented interior designer that has flourished under the tutelage of Celerie Kemble. I especially love how the "DIY Darling" incorporates her own artwork into the decor.

Caroline and Anna live together in the West Village. I love when sisters live together! My sister SAB just found a new apartment in NYC - but sadly, she is moving in just as we are moving out! At the end of April, DW and I will be Nantucket-bound, but back to the city in the fall to take on the adventure of a new apartment. Lots of things to be excited about for sure - and lots of new decorating projects!

American Beauty: Claiborne Swanson Frank

Ever since I saw this photo of Claiborne Swanson Frank in Vogue, it was in my mind as the epitome as effortless, California-girl cool. The fact that she is a photographer who finds most of her inspiration in women should come as no surprise. I particularly love how CSF captures her subjects in such natural, languid poses that really allow their personalities to shine through.

Another fun-fact is that Claiborne Swanson Frank is a self-taught photographer, who took up the art shortly after she met her husband. Proof that its never too late to pick a new career!

HOT

Every so often, I come across a fashion editorial that really sticks out in my memory as capturing something FABULOUS. The October 2011 issue of ELLE was one of them. The colors! The scuba inspiration! The St. Barth t-shirt! LOVE it all. And Doutzen Kroes and Adriana Lima look so amazing - its the perfect tipping point to get me back into my yoga-5-days-a-week grove. We will all be in bathing suits before we know it!
